Toured is built around a simple promise: your data stays on your device. This policy spells out exactly what that means and where the few exceptions are.
What we collect
Toured has no accounts, no logins, and no server holding your house list. The houses you save, photos you take, voice notes you record, and notes you write are stored locally on your iPhone and synced privately to your own iCloud account. They never leave that.
Third-party services
A handful of features call third-party services on your behalf. None receive personally identifying information.
- Address geocoding. When you save a house, the address is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to look up coordinates. The address is sent; nothing else.
- Neighborhood data. Walkability, schools, flood risk, air quality, and earthquake history come from public APIs (OpenStreetMap, FEMA, EPA, USGS, Open-Meteo). Only coordinates are sent.
- Smart Compare, Insight, summaries, questions (Pro). These features call Groq's hosted Llama model via a small proxy on Vercel. The relevant house notes for that feature are sent to Groq, processed, and returned. Groq's policy is zero data retention and we don't log requests on the proxy.
- Voice transcription (Pro). Voice notes you record are sent to Groq's Whisper service for transcription, again via the same proxy with the same zero-retention posture.
- Listing import. When you paste a listing URL or use the Share to Toured extension, your iPhone fetches the public preview data on that page directly — the same way Safari's link previews work. Toured runs no scraper.
- In-app purchase. Handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Toured never sees your payment information.
-
Analytics. Toured uses TelemetryDeck for
privacy-friendly product analytics. Event names like
houseAddedandpaywallShownare recorded with no personal data, no cross-app tracking, and no advertising identifiers.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't track you across apps or websites.
- We don't run a server holding your house list.
Your data, your device
Delete the app and your data is gone. To remove the iCloud copy as well, open Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Toured. There's nothing for you to ask us to delete because we don't have it.
Children
Toured is intended for adults shopping for homes. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone, but in particular we don't direct the app at children under 13.
Changes
If we materially change anything in this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and call it out in the app's release notes.
